Surgery of the Nose
Surgery of the nose, or rhinoplasty, can be either a cosmetic procedure to improve the appearance of the nose or a reconstructive procedure to correct impaired breathing and/or structural defects. Dr. Hardy will carefully evaluate your individual needs and goals for improvement to determine the specific techniques needed and features to address in your procedure.
Cosmetically, the surgery addresses the following features:
- Nose size in relation to facial balance
- Nose width, at the bridge or in the size and position of the nostrils
- Nasal tips that are enlarged, bulbous, drooping, upturned or hooked
- Large, wide or upturned nostrils
- Nasal asymmetry
- Problems caused by injuries to the nose
Reconstructive surgery to improve an obstructed airway will address issues such as deviated septums that require the adjusting of the nasal structure to achieve better alignment.
